Xtina

When he comes off the stage & sits beside her, Xtina feels the same thrill she felt the first time she saw him perform like that in this cafe. Back then, it was all the other way round: she was a freshman & he was the TA of her art history class. She had such a crush on him! And when he finally noticed her, and sat beside her on this very couch, she felt honored just to be approached by him. Gavin was everything Xtina ever dreamed of in a man, handsome & Romantic in the 'Byron & Shelley' sense...Xtina loved him very deeply, & and has to admit to herself she does love him still.

But the grand & romantic displays that made her fall in love with Gavin are also what drive her so crazy.

If Xtina really thinks she means it when she says she broke up with Gavin, she really shouldn't go out with him at all. He works his magic on her and before too long she is agreeing to come home with him.

Having finally allowed herself to let go & go with her passion, Xtina gives it everything she's got. And then Gavin ruins the whole thing by saying he wants to take pictures of her first.

Outraged, she slaps him on the face. And she immediately regrets it, but doesn't say so. Instead she meets his stare with her own. Her strokes the cheek she slapped and speaks in a cold tone she's never heard before. "You know, Xtina, you're right after all. We don't belong together. We're over," he says, looking away from her. Unlike her, he means it, she thinks, terrified suddenly at what she's done.
